Giant Con Vid

6 Jul

My buddy Jay Bulckaert (http://twitter.com/COLLECTIVE9) just shot a video for the YK indie band, Giant Con. Here’s their site with their music and other stuff: http://www.giantcon.com. Anyway, needless to say it was a pretty great feeling to get principal shooting done. I helped Jay as executive producer/grip guy/idea dude/hired goon. The whole process really opened my eyes to the amount of time and effort it takes to shoot a short film. One thing to note: we shot this video, which is to be a 30-minute period piece about Yellowknife in the 1940’s, with less than $2,000 and about 40 actors. We received donations and props and food from local businesses and associations – a testament to what kind of place Yellowknife is. Thanks to:

The NWT Mining Heritage Society/The Rocher Family/Javaroma/all the local businesses and people who threw us a couple bucks/friends and family and actors who helped out.
