Les Rocher

Les Rocher, photographed at his home in the Yellowknife woodyard.

Well, what more is there to say? Here we have the man, the myth, the legend: Mr. Les Rocher. Les has been around these parts forever and is a well-known landlord and land owner. These images were shot for a feature profile on Les to be published in the May issue of Up Here Business. Took a lot of convincing from our editor, Mike Ganley, to get an interview, let alone a photo, but I think these do the trick. Gotta say, even though Les is known to be a little rough around the edges, he was great to work with – very patient and pleasant. I think I even got a few shots of him smiling if you can believe it! All kidding aside, I think we can all agree that Les and the Rocher family have contributed a great deal to Yellowknife over the years. Thanks to Les for taking the time for this, and especially his wife Sandra for combing his hair and mustache!
